About the Role
Vision University, a dynamic and fast-growing private, faith-based institution located in Ikogbo Town, Ogun State, Nigeria, is seeking an experienced and passionate academic leader to join our Department of Nursing Science. Operating under an official provisional licence granted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023 and mentored by Lagos State University (LASU), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic rigor, moral integrity, and healthcare education. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in curriculum delivery, student mentorship, and groundbreaking research, helping to establish our nursing program as a premier center of excellence in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures and practical training to undergraduate students in Nursing Science in accordance with NUC and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) standards.
- Design, update, and implement innovative nursing curricula that reflect global best practices and local healthcare needs.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, clinical postings, and dissertations.
- Conduct impactful research, publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and secure research grants to elevate the university profile.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to nursing students.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, as well as community outreach and health initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty leadership to mentor junior academic staff and ensure compliance with the LASU-Vision University mentorship framework.
- Possession of a good Ph.D. in Nursing Science or a closely related and registrable discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- A minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Evidence of strong academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Current practicing license and active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and inspire students within a faith-based academic environment.
