Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our academic programs and driving institutional growth. Your core duties will include:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Microbiology.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conducting cutting-edge research, publishing in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and securing research grants.
- Contributing to curriculum development, course evaluation, and the enhancement of departmental academic standards.
- Participating in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, as well as community engagement initiatives.
- Mentoring junior academic staff and providing academic counseling to students.
Candidates applying for this position must meet the following rigorous academic and professional standards:
- Possession of a PhD in Microbiology or a closely related relevant field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 2 years of continuous academic experience at the rank of Lecturer I.
- A strong publication record of at least 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, which must include a minimum of 3 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Demonstrable ICT proficiency and the ability to leverage digital tools for teaching and research.
- Active membership in relevant professional bodies within the biological or microbiological sciences.
- Mandatory possession of an NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
