About the Role
Wellspring University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Lecturer in Medicine and Surgery to join our dynamic College of Medicine in Benin City, Edo State. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class medical education, conducting cutting-edge research, and mentoring the next generation of healthcare leaders in an environment that fosters academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures, seminars, and practical training in Medicine and Surgery to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, clinical rotations, and postgraduate student theses.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and actively contribute to the academic reputation of the university through scholarly publications.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement of medical programmes.
- Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students, guiding them toward professional and moral excellence.
- Engage in departmental, college, and university-wide administrative duties and community service initiatives.
- Possess a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Medicine and Surgery or a closely related relevant discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of cognate university teaching, clinical, and research experience.
- Demonstrated strong record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Proven capacity for postgraduate teaching, student supervision, and academic leadership.
- Must possess current professional registration and a valid medical practising licence where applicable.
- Demonstrated ICT proficiency with strong communication, interpersonal, and pedagogical skills.
