About the Role
Wellspring University, a leading private institution founded on Christian ethics and principles, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Medical Laboratory Science in Benin City, Edo State. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, conduct practical laboratory sessions, and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students in Medical Microbiology.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, teaching modules, and assessment tools in alignment with NUC standards.
- Lead innovative research initiatives, secure research grants, and publish high-impact scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Provide academic leadership, participate in departmental administration, and contribute to faculty committees and university-wide activities.
- Engage in community service and foster professional linkages with medical and academic institutions.
- Possess a PhD in Medical Microbiology or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Minimum of five (5) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- A strong, verifiable portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Proven capacity for postgraduate teaching, mentoring, and academic supervision.
- Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership, ICT proficiency, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Current professional registration and a valid practising licence from relevant regulatory bodies where applicable.
