We are currently looking for a Lecturer II in Criminology and Security Studies to contribute to our vibrant academic community in Benin City, Edo State. In this role, you will shape the minds of future leaders by imparting critical knowledge in criminology, security frameworks, and social sciences while upholding our core values of moral and intellectual development.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Criminology and Security Studies.
- Develop and update course curricula in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern pedagogical trends.
- Conduct high-impact academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and academic fieldworks.
- Provide mentorship, academic counseling, and guidance to students to foster their holistic development.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, meetings, and community service initiatives.
- Must possess a PhD Degree in Criminology, Security Studies, or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years of cognate university teaching or research experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarly potential, continuing research, and relevant academic publications.
- Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for modern e-learning and research.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills suited for a diverse student body.
- Current professional registration and valid practising licences where applicable to the discipline.
