About the Role

We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, and driven academics for the position of Associate Professor in Histopathology and Cytology within our vibrant College of Medical Laboratory Science located in Benin City, Edo State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Histopathology and Cytology by driving excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and innovative research.
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in line with global academic standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Publish high-impact, peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international academic journals to advance the institution's research profile.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional administrative duties, faculty meetings, academic committees, and community development initiatives.
- Mentor junior academic staff and foster a collaborative, intellectually stimulating learning environment.
- Must possess a PhD in Histopathology, Cytology, or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- Demonstrate a strong, verifiable track record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Possess proven capacity for effective postgraduate teaching, student supervision, and academic leadership.
- Must hold current professional registration and possess a valid, up-to-date practising licence where applicable.
