About the Role
Vision University, a newly established private, faith-based institution located in Ikogbo Town, Ogun State, Nigeria, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Lecturer in Mathematics. Granted its provisional operating licence by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023 and mentored by Lagos State University (LASU), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic excellence and holistic student development. We are looking for an accomplished academician who is passionate about teaching, innovative research, and contributing to the intellectual growth of our vibrant university community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, high-quality lectures, seminars, and tutorials in Mathematics to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Design, update, and develop comprehensive course curricula in alignment with NUC guidelines and global best practices.
- Conduct cutting-edge research, publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and actively seek grant funding.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, theses, and mentor students on academic and career development.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, contributing to institutional administration and growth.
- Engage in community service initiatives and foster academic partnerships relevant to the department and the university.
- Possess a good Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Demonstrate a minimum of six (6) years of post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- A strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in reputable local and international academic journals.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a strong commitment to ethical academic standards.
