About the Role

The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), located in the oil-rich Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic to join our growing institution as a Senior Lecturer in Marine and Blue Economy Studies. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Marine and Blue Economy Studies.
  • Initiate, develop, and independently supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
  • Publish high-impact scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international academic journals.
  • Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee duties.
  • Mentor students and contribute to the overall academic growth and community engagement goals of the university.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Demonstrate a strong background with a minimum required number of years of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution.
  • Possess a robust portfolio of scholarly publications in reputable academic journals.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to initiate, develop, and supervise research projects in marine sciences or related fields.
  • Must meet all other criteria as stipulated in the Federal University Otuoke Rules and Regulations Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff.
