About the Role
The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), located in the oil-rich Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic to join our growing institution as a Senior Lecturer in Marine and Blue Economy Studies. This strategic role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, and community development within our Faculty of Agriculture, helping to position the university as a leading center for marine and environmental resource education in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Marine and Blue Economy Studies.
- Initiate, develop, and independently supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
- Publish high-impact scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international academic journals.
- Participate actively in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee duties.
- Mentor students and contribute to the overall academic growth and community engagement goals of the university.
- Must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Demonstrate a strong background with a minimum required number of years of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution.
- Possess a robust portfolio of scholarly publications in reputable academic journals.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to initiate, develop, and supervise research projects in marine sciences or related fields.
- Must meet all other criteria as stipulated in the Federal University Otuoke Rules and Regulations Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff.
