About the Role
Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria, a reputable private conventional university established in 2005, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Senior Lecturer for the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education. We are dedicated to promoting both academic and moral excellence in line with our motto, "Learning for Wisdom and Morality." We are looking for an authority in the field to contribute to our growing academic community and help shape the future of our students across various educational specializations including Arabic Education, Islamic Studies Education, English Language Education, Social Studies Education, Political Science Education, and Economics Education.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures and teach undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local, national, and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement to meet global academic standards.
- Perform departmental administrative duties and contribute to university committees as assigned by management.
- Mentor students academically and morally, fostering the core values of the institution.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives.
- Must possess a Ph.D. degree in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized and reputable university.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of full-time university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- Strong evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national, and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Active membership in relevant professional educational bodies where applicable.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary academic environment.
