The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), a prestigious federal institution located in the Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, is seeking a qualified and dynamic academic professional to join our expanding Faculty of Agriculture. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Lecturer in Crop Science and Sustainable Agriculture to drive academic excellence, mentor the next generation of agricultural experts, and contribute to groundbreaking research that addresses food security and sustainable farming practices in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Crop Science and Sustainable Agriculture to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Initiate, develop, and successfully supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
- Conduct high-impact research and maintain an active publication record in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Design, update, and continuously improve course curricula to reflect modern agricultural trends and technological advancements.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community engagement initiatives.
- Must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and a Ph.D. degree in Crop Science, Sustainable Agriculture, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a strong minimum number of years of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution as stipulated by university guidelines.
