About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Lecturer in Broadcasting to join our esteemed Department of Communication and Media Studies. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in instructing undergraduate and postgraduate students, mentoring emerging scholars, and contributing to the dynamic growth of our broadcasting curriculum within a vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in broadcasting and media studies to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local and international journals.
- Design, update, and evaluate curriculum courses in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern broadcasting trends.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community service initiatives.
- Mentor junior academic staff and contribute to faculty development programs.
- Must possess a Ph.D. in Broadcasting, Mass Communication, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Basic requirement includes a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a Ph.D.
- Demonstrated expertise in modern broadcasting technologies, media theory, and digital media production.
