About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university committed to academic excellence, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Senior Lecturer in Applied Chemical Science Laboratory Technology. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity for an accomplished academic and researcher to contribute to the growth and development of our Department of Science Laboratory Technology. You will be responsible for shaping the minds of future scientists through rigorous teaching, groundbreaking research, and active participation in departmental administration.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and seminars to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Applied Chemical Science Laboratory Technology.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and actively contribute to the academic advancement of the department and university.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and enhancement to meet modern industry and academic standards.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, guiding their academic and professional development.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees as assigned.
- Must hold a PhD in Applied Chemical Science, Laboratory Technology, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years of active university-level teaching and research experience.
- Must have a strong publication record comprising a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed articles in reputable local and international journals.
- Basic qualification requirement includes a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
