The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is inviting qualified and dedicated academic professionals to apply for the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anaesthesiology within the Faculty of Medicine. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical training in Anaesthesiology to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, as well as postgraduate dissertations and theses.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in Anaesthesiology and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Provide clinical services and mentorship at the university teaching hospital to bridge academic theory with practical medical application.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, curriculum development, and committee work.
- Engage in community service and academic partnerships that enhance the reputation and mission of the University of Benin.
- Possession of a PhD or equivalent terminal medical fellowship in Anaesthesiology or a closely related medical discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience in a recognized tertiary institution.
- A strong publication record with a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed articles in reputable academic journals.
- A foundational First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a relevant PhD.
