About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal university known for academic excellence and impactful research. We are currently seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Lecturer to join our Department of Agriculture within the Faculty of Agriculture. In this pivotal role, you will shape the next generation of agricultural leaders, drive innovative research in rural development, and contribute significantly to Nigeria's agricultural sector growth.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous review of departmental programs.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students across various levels.
- Engage in community service and agricultural outreach programs to empower local farming communities.
- Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties as assigned.
- Must possess a PhD in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development or a closely related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Must have a minimum of eight (8) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- A stellar academic foundation including a First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and collaborate on multidisciplinary projects is an added advantage.
