About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal university committed to academic excellence and groundbreaking research. We are currently looking for a qualified and passionate Lecturer I in Animal Science to join the Department of Agriculture within the Faculty of Agriculture. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the minds of future agricultural leaders, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the vibrant academic community of one of Nigeria's foremost institutions of higher learning.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Animal Science.
- Develop and update course curricula in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern agricultural trends.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students within the department.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, as well as community service initiatives.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Animal Science or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Evidence of a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- Must possess a first degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern pedagogical methods and academic research tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
