About the Role
FairMoney is a leading digital financial platform in Nigeria, empowering millions of users with instant loans and financial services through our Android application. We are looking for a talented Senior Golang Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team and build robust, scalable systems that power our core lending and credit products. In this role, you will architect high-performance backend services and distributed systems, ensuring seamless credit delivery for our high-volume financial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, distributed systems, and reliable APIs supporting lending and credit products.
- Optimise and maintain relational databases, data models, and complex queries to ensure high performance and data consistency.
- Identify and resolve scalability, availability, and reliability bottlenecks while improving system observability and monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Data, Risk, and Engineering teams to deliver impactful, secure fintech solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in backend development using Golang.
- Proven track record of designing and building distributed systems and scalable applications, specifically within lending or credit fintech environments.
- Strong understanding of relational database design, indexing, and query optimisation.
- Experience with microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and cross-functional collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
