About the Role
The NSIA-LUTH Cancer Center (NLCC) is West Africa's premier institution dedicated exclusively to advanced cancer care, research, and education, located within the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. We are currently seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented Senior Finance Officer to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations, reporting directly to the Finance Manager while maintaining the highest standards of financial governance in accordance with international best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports in compliance with IFRS standards.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and bank reconciliations using SAGE 200.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze company budgets, performing variance analysis to highlight financial discrepancies for management attention.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, treasury reports, and ageing analyses for receivables and payables.
- Compute and remit statutory deductions accurately, including PAYE, Pension, WHT, VAT, and Company Income Tax.
- Maintain a comprehensive fixed asset register and assist with inventory appraisals and valuations.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless annual audits and compliance reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Must be a fully qualified accountant holding ICAN or ACCA certification.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Deep working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial regulations, and IFRS reporting standards.
- Proficiency in electronic accounting software, specifically SAGE 200, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with high integrity in handling confidential data.
