About the Role
The Place (The Smackers Limited) is a leading and rapidly expanding brand in Nigeria's vibrant food services and hospitality sector. We are currently seeking a meticulous and driven Restaurant Accountant to join our finance team in Lagos. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining financial integrity, monitoring budgets, and ensuring seamless accounting operations across our bustling outlets.
Key Responsibilities- Process all financial transactions through sales and purchase ledgers from invoice receipt to completion.
- Reconcile bank statements with payment vouchers, purchase ledgers, and sales ledgers.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage, NAV, and QuickBooks to process financial data.
- Conduct monthly stock counts, stock valuations, and stock reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and handle inter-branch accounts reconciliation.
- Monitor budgets and generate variance reports to ensure operational cost-efficiency.
- Determine the costs of performances and activities to facilitate meaningful financial analysis.
- Minimum of an HND in Accountancy or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of cognate accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or retail industry.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics skills.
- Proficiency in accounting applications including Sage, QuickBooks, NAV, or Peachtree.
- Ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities.
- Must reside within or be able to easily commute to the Itire, Lawanson, and Surulere axis in Lagos.
