About the Role

Our client, a prestigious, top-tier co-educational secondary school in Nigeria, is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead its fiscal operations. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with the CFO to drive financial planning, budget development, payroll, taxation, capital management, and debt restructuring, ensuring long-term institutional growth and compliance with Nigerian financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee comprehensive financial operations including budgeting, periodic financial reporting, payroll processing, and statutory remittances.
  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian taxation laws, manage tax audits, and implement tax-efficient strategies.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of capital raising initiatives, debt financing, and lender relationship management.
  • Analyze operational data to identify cost-saving trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for strategic financial planning.
  • Direct, coordinate, and mentor the finance and accounting team to optimize daily operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate annual audits, address audit findings, and establish robust internal financial controls.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including board members, school leadership, and financial institutions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Accounting or Finance; an MBA, ACA, or ACCA is a strong advantage.
  • Must possess an active ICAN certification.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of robust accounting and finance experience, ideally within a structured educational or corporate environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian Taxation Laws, accounting principles, and financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with Xero accounting ERP and advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership, multitasking, and exceptional communication skills across all management levels.
