About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Finance & Accounts Officer to join our growing team at a reputable company in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in business planning and decision-making by delivering accurate financial insights, optimizing operating budgets, and managing overall accounting administration for the company and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities across the organization and its subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with unit heads to prepare and implement annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
- Manage the comprehensive payroll process, ensuring seamless computations in compliance with existing regulations.
- Institute robust cost-saving strategies to minimize operational expenses and present monthly reports to management.
- Ensure timely preparation of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory returns including VAT, WHT, and company taxes.
- Develop and enforce internal control policies to eliminate financial leakages, fraud, and non-compliance.
- Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of finance subordinates to foster a culture of high productivity.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; an MBA will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Senior Accounts Officer in a medium or large-sized reputable organization.
- Active Associate membership of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) or an equivalent recognized professional certification.
- Exceptional proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, treasury management, and fraud detection.
