About the Role

Savannah Energy is a dynamic, high-growth, and ambitious energy company committed to driving positive socio-economic development and playing a strategic role in Africa's energy sector. We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Senior Field Project Engineer to join our Engineering, Technical and Projects (ETP) team in Nigeria. In this critical on-site role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering civil and structural CAPEX projects and Management of Change (MoC) activities, ensuring excellence in field execution, contractor coordination, and adherence to top-tier safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rigorous on-site technical support and supervision for construction, installation, and commissioning activities to meet company and international standards.
  • Develop scopes of work, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and cost estimates for assets across Nigeria.
  • Participate actively in vendor assessments, Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and the implementation of Project Execution Plans.
  • Review and interpret civil, structural, and MEP drawings while ensuring engineering designs are properly structured for field execution.
  • Collaborate in technical reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, 3D model reviews, constructability assessments, and risk mitigation.
  • Supervise contractors closely to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Monitor pipeline Rights of Way (ROW) to prevent encroachments and develop robust erosion protection measures.
  • Prepare detailed site progress, inspection, and project close-out reports for internal and regulatory stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Chartered status is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 12 years of hands-on engineering design and construction experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies, contractor management, and relevant international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and mapping tools like Google Earth Pro.
  • Demonstrated ability to make practical, timely engineering decisions in dynamic field environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills.
