About the Role
Turbo Energy Nigeria Limited is a leading engineering and contracting company providing advanced smart metering, vending, and GIS-centric management solutions to the power and utility sectors. We are currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior GIS & Installation Officer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in bridging field operations and geographic data management by ensuring that all meter installation locations are accurately captured, mapped, and documented.
This position requires a blend of office-based GIS database management and hands-on field verification. You will collaborate closely with our installation, technical, and sales teams to streamline deployment processes, eliminate location-related delays, and maintain data integrity across our smart metering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Create, update, and maintain comprehensive GIS maps and databases relating to meter installations.
- Capture, verify, and accurately record geographical coordinates of customer and installation sites using mobile GIS applications.
- Conduct field visits to confirm installation addresses, accessibility, and landmarks while identifying potential logistical challenges.
- Cross-check field installation data against internal records to ensure complete accuracy of meter numbers and customer details.
- Assist installation teams with route planning, spatial analysis, and navigation to hard-to-find locations.
- Generate regular GIS reports, location summaries, and digital maps to support operational planning and management decisions.
- Ensure strict adherence to company data security, information confidentiality, and compliance standards.
- Bachelor degree, HND, or OND in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in GIS, field mapping, surveying, utilities, or the energy sector (fresh graduates with strong practical GIS training are encouraged to apply).
- Basic proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS, alongside Google Maps and mobile data collection tools.
- Strong computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic database management.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a high level of integrity.
