About the Role

EYN Projects seeks an experienced Senior Extension Worker to provide technical leadership and direct supervision of community extension workers delivering climate-resilient livelihoods programming in Shani and Konduga Local Government Areas. You will serve as the technical bridge between the project team and communities, ensuring high-quality implementation of climate-smart agriculture, organic input production, agrosilvopastoral activities, and Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) initiatives that strengthen food security, income, and resilience for women, youth, persons with disabilities, and IDP/returnee households.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise 4 Extension Workers and VSLA Facilitators; conduct regular field accompaniment and spot checks
  • Ensure accurate delivery of training modules on Climate Smart Agriculture, organic fertilizer/pesticide production, zai pits, water conservation, and drought-resistant crops
  • Monitor VSLA groups for savings discipline, loan management, record keeping, and community linkages
  • Conduct monthly technical training and coaching on facilitation skills, safeguarding, and Do No Harm principles
  • Lead seasonal activity planning aligned with the Borno farming calendar
  • Facilitate Training of Trainers for lead farmers and VSLA committees
  • Collect data using Kobo/ODK on demo plots, VSLA formation, loan repayment, and CSA adoption rates
  • Compile monthly narrative reports and success stories for donor documentation
  • Ensure inclusion targets for women, youth, PWDs, and vulnerable populations across all activities
  • Liaise with Ward Development Committees, Traditional Leaders, LGA Agriculture Departments, and Cooperatives

Qualifications
  • Minimum HND or B.Sc. in Agriculture, Agronomy, Community Development, or related field
  • At least 4 years of field experience in livelihoods, agriculture extension, or VSLA programming
  • At least 2 years supervising field staff in remote settings
  • Fluency in English, Hausa, and Kanuri
  • Practical knowledge of Climate Smart Agriculture and full mastery of VSLA methodology
  • Experience with Kobo/ODK, basic Excel, and report writing
  • Strong commitment to gender, youth, and disability inclusion
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote communities by motorcycle
