About the Role
Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited is an independent Nigerian energy firm that emerged as a major player in the oil and gas industry after acquiring Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC). We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Principal Electrical Engineer and manage electrical engineering activities across all oil and gas projects and facilities in HA & HB-Buko Projects. In this vital role, you will oversee the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of complex electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Electrical technical authority, providing technical assurance and governance for electrical systems.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with company standards and industry best practices.
- Support audits, incident investigations, and management of change processes related to electrical systems.
- Lead electrical design for power generation, distribution, motor control, and protection systems.
- Develop specifications, datasheets, and drawings for electrical equipment and installations while ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and Nigerian standards including NESIS and NMDPRA.
- Promote and enforce electrical safety across all phases of engineering and operations, including hazardous area classifications and arc flash protection.
- Conduct electrical safety risk assessments, participate in HAZOPs, and support the coordination of SAFOPs.
- Manage electrical scope in FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases while supervising contractors.
- Travel to offshore platforms or remote sites as required, maintaining strict compliance with safety protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Active membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and COREN registrable.
- Proven experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals.
- Strong technical knowledge of power systems, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, UPS, and generators.
