About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE) was established on March 14, 2024, to improve healthcare needs and manpower output in Nigeria. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy, the university now boasts six faculties and 17 departments. We are currently seeking a dependable, skilled, and professional Senior Driver / Mechanic to ensure the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of university vehicles in support of our institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Safely transport university staff, students, and authorized visitors to designated locations within and outside Enugu State.
- Conduct routine daily maintenance checks on university vehicles, including oil, water, battery, and tire inspections.
- Perform minor and major mechanical repairs, troubleshooting engine issues promptly to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks recording mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
- Adhere strictly to Nigerian traffic laws and university safety policies at all times.
- Ensure cleanliness and overall roadworthiness of assigned vehicles before every trip.
- Must possess relevant academic and professional qualifications, including a valid Nigerian Driver’s License and Trade Test certifications in mechanics.
- Demonstrated extensive professional driving experience, preferably within a tertiary institution or corporate organization.
- Exceptional competence, personal integrity, and good communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, routing within Nigeria, and defensive driving techniques.
