About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal university committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service. Founded in 1970, UNIBEN has grown into a leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dependable, skilled, and professional Senior Driver (CONTISS 03) to join our transport fleet and support the university's daily operational logistics.
Key Responsibilities- Safely transport authorized university staff, university officials, and guests to designated destinations within and outside Benin City.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after every trip, checking oil, water, battery, brakes, and tire pressure.
- Ensure university vehicles are kept clean, tidy, and in optimal mechanical condition at all times.
- Promptly report any mechanical faults, accidents, or near-misses to the transport management unit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks recording mileage, fuel consumption, and travel destinations.
- Adhere strictly to Nigerian traffic laws, university policies, and safety regulations while driving.
- Possession of 5 O Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than 2 sittings via WAEC, NECO, GCE, SSCE, or NABTEB.
- Must possess a valid Class E Driver's License and a recognized Trade Test Class II certificate.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional driving experience, preferably within a corporate or academic institution.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian road networks, traffic signs, and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated defensive driving skills and a clean driving record.
