About the Role
SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven Senior Drilling Engineer to join its esteemed workforce in Nigeria. In this role, you will represent upstream excellence, supporting the operational team to deliver wells safely, in strict compliance with planning, and at a competitive cost while playing a leading role within the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive well designs and operational programs in line with company benchmarks, industry standards, and best practices.
- Lead operational program reviews including DWOP, pre-spud, and PPR within the D&W team, rig, and service companies.
- Propose and implement innovative engineering solutions and alternative plans to overcome technical challenges.
- Monitor drilling expenditures against budgeted costs and optimize contract utilization to ensure efficient well delivery.
- Lead D&W digital transformation initiatives and implement digital solutions to streamline engineering workflows.
- Conduct risk assessments related to drilling operations and SIMOPS, implementing robust mitigation and contingency measures.
- Mentor and coach junior drilling engineers, interns, and DCAS to foster professional growth within the team.
- Master's degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of dedicated drilling engineering experience within the oil and gas sector.
- Full compliance with HSE and discipline-specific training standard requirements.
- Fluent in English with exceptional interpersonal and strong leadership skills.
- Proven expertise in contract management, technical evaluations, and operational readiness coordination.
