About the Role
Paystack is transforming online commerce across Africa by building modern, reliable payment infrastructure designed for scale. We are looking for an ambitious Senior Data Engineer to design, extend, and manage our data platforms, enabling seamless ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics for millions of transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines using ETL and ELT methodologies for data lakes and analytical warehouses.
- Implement real-time data streaming solutions utilizing Kafka, Debezium, and Kafka Connect.
- Build and schedule custom workflows using Apache Airflow to ensure accurate data delivery.
- Manage diverse database technologies, including relational databases, NoSQL, and big data systems like Redshift and BigQuery.
- Employ Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm for efficient provisioning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of dedicated data engineering experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
- Minimum of 2 years of software or application development experience.
- Proficiency in Python, with strong capability in writing complex SQL queries across different dialects.
- Hands-on expertise with Apache Airflow, Kafka, Debezium, and cloud computing environments.
- Solid experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redshift.
- Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
