About the Role
JMG, a market leader in power generation and electrical solutions in Nigeria, is seeking a results-driven Senior Credit Control Officer to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining financial health by managing customer accounts, enforcing credit policies, and minimizing bad debt across our expanding operations.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor customer accounts, invoices, credit limits, and payment schedules proactively.
- Follow up on overdue payments and drive debt collections aggressively within agreed timelines.
- Reconcile complex customer accounts and resolve payment or billing discrepancies efficiently.
- Allocate customer payments accurately within the enterprise resource planning ERP system.
- Review customer creditworthiness thoroughly and ensure strict compliance with company credit policies.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly collection and debtor aging reports for management review.
- Liaise closely with the Sales and commercial teams to resolve client account issues promptly.
- Negotiate approved repayment plans and maintain meticulous records of all collection activities.
- Bachelor's degree BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 to 7 years of proven experience in credit control, collections, or accounts receivable.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and deep knowledge of modern debt collection practices in Nigeria.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with targets, manage multiple accounts, and meet tight deadlines.
