About the Role
247Bet is a next-generation sports betting and gaming platform built for Africa’s vibrant, connected audience. We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join our team in a hybrid capacity based in Lagos, Nigeria. As a licensed operator in a highly regulated industry, compliance is foundational to everything we do. You will own our regulatory, anti-money laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC), and responsible-gaming obligations, ensuring our platform strictly meets Nigerian legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Own and maintain the company's compliance framework, policies, and procedures across licensing, AML/CFT, KYC, and responsible gaming.
- Ensure the platform operates strictly in line with its gaming licence and all applicable Nigerian regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulators and licensing authorities, managing filings, reporting, and correspondence.
- Design and oversee KYC/AML controls, collaborating with verification vendors and the engineering team.
- Monitor transactions and player activity for suspicious behavior, managing all required reporting obligations.
- Build and oversee a comprehensive responsible-gaming program including self-exclusion, deposit limits, and age verification.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and maintain the corporate risk register.
- Deliver engaging compliance training to foster a strong culture of integrity across the organization.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and advise company leadership on strategic impacts.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, or risk management within gaming, fintech, payments, or related regulated sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC, and responsible-gaming requirements.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Nigerian regulatory frameworks and lottery or gaming licensing.
- Proven experience designing and implementing robust compliance policies, controls, and workflows.
- Exceptional attention to detail, rigorous analytical mindset, and the ability to make and defend critical judgment calls.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise effectively with regulators and internal teams.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ICA, CAMS, or a recognized legal qualification will be a distinct advantage.
