About the Role
Hapag-Lloyd AG, one of the world's leading container shipping companies, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager Operations to join our team. In this strategic role, you will report directly to the Director Operations, managing all operational functions while maintaining exceptional customer service standards, monitoring vendor and staff performance, and controlling overall operational costs. Key Responsibilities- Oversee and deliver top performance in port operations, equipment management, transport dispatch, and maintenance and repair functions.
- Conduct monthly cost report analysis to identify focus areas and cost drivers to reduce cost per TEU and cost per box.
- Manage vendor performance for terminals and depots in close collaboration with procurement and berth planners.
- Support day-to-day inland operations activities, ensuring compliance with governmental rules and regulations.
- Provide monthly reporting follow-ups for all countries in the area with a strong focus on empties and FIFO.
- Handle and appropriately escalate high-level operational concerns while maintaining clear communication with local managers.
- 7 to 10 years of comprehensive operations experience within the liner shipping or maritime logistics business.
- Proven expertise in schedule reliability, FIS schedule maintenance, and EPOS performance tracking.
- Strong background in empty evacuation plan adherence and equipment forecast accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability in managing maintenance and repair (M&R) costs per box and empty supply cost budgeting.
