About the Role
Arewa Trade and Investment Promotion Council is seeking an accomplished Senior Backend / Platform Engineer to take ownership of a diversified portfolio of six innovative digital operating systems spanning fintech, education, commerce, lifestyle services, and mineral trade. Developed through modern AI-assisted environments, these platforms are entering a critical phase of technical consolidation, production engineering, deployment, and commercial operationalisation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive technical audits of existing applications and codebases to recover, validate, and strengthen frontend, backend, database, and integration architecture.
- Establish secure production infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, robust monitoring, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams encompassing full-stack, backend, DevSecOps, QA, and integration specialists.
- Implement enterprise-grade security, authentication, authorisation, and data integrity controls while supervising payment and external API integrations.
- Work directly with executive leadership to translate product strategies into robust, commercially successful operational technology businesses.
- 10+ years of substantial software engineering experience with strong hands-on proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Proven track record of leading complex software systems from development to live production and professionalising AI-generated codebases.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, DevSecOps, scalable architecture, and transactional systems, with fintech experience being highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to manage engineering teams and technical delivery across multiple products simultaneously.
- Executive-level technical responsibility with direct engagement and strategic influence alongside group leadership.
