About the Role
Software Business Solutions Consulting (SBSC) is a dynamic, minority-owned global consulting firm specializing in application development, business strategy, and technology solutions across diverse industries like healthcare and financial services. We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team on-site in Ikeja, Lagos, for a contract position focused on fortifying our clients' digital assets.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive threat modeling, secure design reviews, and code reviews across web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and product teams to integrate security best practices and DevSecOps principles into CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct rigorous penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security incident analysis to identify and remediate risks.
- Define and enforce secure coding standards while documenting technical security requirements and guidelines.
- Mentor team members on secure development practices and stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and industry technologies.
- Extensive experience in application security, including secure architecture design and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency with modern security tools such as SAST, DAST, dependency scanners, and penetration testing frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of industry frameworks including OWASP Top 10, NIST, and ISO 27001.
- Coding proficiency in at least one major language like Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, with certifications like CISSP, OSCP, or CSSLP considered a strong advantage.
