About the Role

Kaplo Africa is Africa's most innovative Human Resource and Business Support Solutions provider, delivering cutting-edge business advisory and human capital solutions across diverse economic sectors. We are currently seeking a highly experienced, commercially minded, and technically strong Senior Accountant / Head of Finance to lead our organisation's finance and accounting function in Nigeria.

This is not a general accounting role. We are specifically looking for a finance professional who understands the financial services industry and has hands-on accounting experience within environments such as Commercial Banks, Merchant Banks, Finance Houses, Lending Companies, Microfinance Banks, FinTechs, or other regulated financial institutions. The successful candidate will ensure robust financial controls, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and sound fiscal decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the company's accounting and finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statutory filings.
  • Establish and maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and rigorous risk mitigation measures.
  • Oversee bank and ledger reconciliations, receivables, payables, and overall financial performance.
  • Provide management with timely financial analysis, actionable business insights, and guidance for strategic decisions.
  • Liaise effectively with external auditors, regulators, banks, and tax authorities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team while driving process automation and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Mandatory professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, with significant hands-on tenure in the Nigerian financial services sector.
  • Proven expertise working within commercial banks, fintechs, microfinance banks, or regulated lending institutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting standards, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with high professional integrity.
