About the Role
Geoplex Drillteq Limited, a fast-growing indigenous oilfield services company in Nigeria, is seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strict compliance with statutory regulations, and providing reliable financial insights to support executive decision-making within the upstream oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts in full compliance with IFRS standards.
- Ensure the timely and accurate posting of all financial transactions within the general ledger.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts while maintaining robust supporting schedules.
- Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring budget performance and delivering detailed variance analysis.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including CIT, VAT, WHT, and PAYE, while coordinating statutory filings.
- Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities such as FIRS and State IRS.
- Implement, monitor, and refine internal controls to safeguard company assets and optimize accounting processes.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior finance team members, providing continuous on-the-job guidance.
- Leverage advanced ERP systems, particularly SAP S4HANA, to maintain data integrity and streamline financial workflows.
- Bachelor degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Active ICAN or ACCA professional certification is strictly required.
- Minimum of 5 years of cognate accounting experience, preferably within the oil and gas or energy sector.
- Hands-on operational experience with SAP S4HANA or other enterprise-grade accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong command of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, accounts payable procedures, and audit coordination.
