About the Role
Captain Residency Hotel, a premier destination known for comfort and elegance, is seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will act as the crucial bridge between junior finance staff and executive management, ensuring flawless financial operations, robust internal controls, and strategic financial oversight for our hospitality business.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict compliance with IFRS and company policies.
- Oversee general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and fixed assets.
- Manage statutory tax compliance including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and CIT returns with the FIRS and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior accountants and accounts officers to maintain high standards of accuracy and productivity.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Design and implement internal controls, standard operating procedures, and process improvements to mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Procurement, Sales, and HR to resolve financial discrepancies and support strategic goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Active ICAN or ACCA professional certification is strictly required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality or service industry.
- Advanced proficiency in IFRS standards, Nigerian tax laws, and accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
