About the Role
Captain Residency Hotel, located in the heart of the city, delivers exceptional experiences of comfort and elegance for business and leisure travelers alike. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Account Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our high standards of financial integrity, ensuring seamless daily accounting operations, and contributing to the overall financial health of our establishment.
Key Responsibilities- Process daily invoices efficiently, ensuring proper backup and approvals are obtained in strict adherence to hotel accounting controls and company policies.
- Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, profit and loss accounts, and balance sheets.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including the projection of room revenue and annual business plans.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, handle secure cash procedures, and perform regular bank statement reconciliations.
- Administer payroll accurately, ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax legislation, and assist with tax returns.
- Conduct internal audits on financial transactions and operations to guarantee adherence to financial laws and accounting standards.
- Monitor cash flow actively, follow up on outstanding payments, and report potential bad debts.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and local tax laws.
