About the Role
Elvaridah is a dynamic Business Development Company dedicated to helping enterprises start, improve, and expand. We are currently seeking an analytical and driven Senior Accountant to oversee our daily financial operations and ensure absolute accuracy in our corporate accounting records. In this pivotal role, you will manage complex reconciliations, lead month-end closing processes, and deliver vital financial insights that directly support our ongoing business growth in the Nigerian market.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements.
- Perform complex bank, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations with high precision.
- Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and strategic opportunities for cost reduction.
- Manage tax compliance, including filings and coordination with external auditors for annual reviews.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Streamline accounting workflows and implement robust internal controls to improve data integrity.
- Mentor, train, and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level capacity.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven ability to handle high-volume transactions with extreme accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as ACA, CPA, or CMA are a distinct advantage.
