About the Role

HRLeverage Africa is recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable Audit and Tax Consulting Firm, for the position of Account Officer. We are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated professional to support the firm's accounting and financial operations. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, perform reconciliations, and assist in the preparation of essential financial documents and reports. Key Responsibilities
  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and day-to-day accounting records.
  • Assist with the preparation of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other essential financial documents.
  • Perform regular bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Maintain proper documentation and systematic filing of all financial records.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities efficiently.
  • Support the preparation of periodic financial reports, schedules, and statements.
  • Assist in monitoring client accounts and following up on outstanding payments where required.
  • Ensure all accounting records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Provide reliable support during audit and tax engagements by preparing relevant schedules.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an OND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office productivity applications.
  • Good numerical and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good organisational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous practical experience in an accounting or audit environment is an added advantage.
  • Candidates residing in Ogba, Ikeja, Agege, Maryland, Ketu, or nearby mainland areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
