About the Role
The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu (FUAHSE), established on March 14, 2024, is rapidly expanding to meet the healthcare manpower needs of Nigeria. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy into a dynamic university with six faculties and 17 departments, we are committed to excellence in education and service delivery. We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Senior Accountant to join our financial team and contribute to our institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the university's day-to-day accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, budget reports, and forecasts in compliance with Nigerian public sector financial regulations.
- Oversee payroll processing, tax remittances, and statutory deductions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal financial controls and audit processes.
- Collaborate with department heads to monitor budget utilization and financial performance.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to university management to support sustainable institutional growth.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Mandatory professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, ANAN, or recognized equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of cognate accounting experience, preferably within the tertiary education or public sector.
- Demonstrated high level of professional integrity, competence, and commitment to institutional goals.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in modern accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
