About the Role
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organization providing assistance, protection, and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to ensure a functional finance structure in our Nigeria country office based in Abuja, offering optimal support to our vital humanitarian programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the implementation of all finance-related policies, procedures, and strategies in coordination with country and area offices.
- Provide line management to direct reports and technical supervision to finance staff in compliance with NRC guidelines.
- Maintain overall budget control, monitor cash flows, and ensure accurate financial planning and analysis.
- Ensure budgeting, accounting, and year-end procedures adhere strictly to NRC policies, the Financial Handbook, and donor requirements.
- Conduct staff and partner capacity building on financial and budgeting responsibilities while implementing anti-corruption policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a senior finance role with managerial responsibilities in a humanitarian or recovery context.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management with implementing partners and remote management.
- Previous working experience within the Central and West Africa region is highly desirable.
- Strong behavioural and leadership competencies including integrity, empowering people, and delivering results.
- A 24-month renewable contract based in Abuja, Nigeria, with options for national or international status depending on the candidate profile.
