About the Role
St. Columbanus Secondary School (SCOSSI) is a prominent co-educational Catholic mission boarding school located in Ikwen, Obot Akara Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Founded in 1959 by the St. Patrick Missionary Fathers, Kiltegan, the institution operates under the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene. We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Security Personnel to maintain a safe, secure, and peaceful learning environment for our boarding students and staff members.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor school premises, gates, and perimeters regularly to prevent unauthorized access and potential security breaches.
- Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic entering the school compound, ensuring proper identification and logging of visitors.
- Conduct routine patrols around hostels, academic blocks, and administrative areas during day and night shifts.
- Enforce school security protocols and report any suspicious activities, safety hazards, or breaches immediately to management.
- Manage emergency situations calmly and efficiently, collaborating with local law enforcement and community security networks when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining law and order during school events, sports activities, and major gatherings.
- Minimum of SSCE, NECO, or equivalent educational qualification with verifiable security training.
- Proven previous experience working as a security guard, military personnel, or law enforcement officer, preferably within a school or boarding facility.
- Excellent physical fitness, alertness, and the ability to work effectively on day or night shifts.
- Strong observational skills, good judgment, and a high level of personal integrity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with students, staff, and visitors.
