About the Role
Wexford College is a premium, co-educational private secondary institution providing comprehensive day and boarding options in Akure, Ondo State. Established in 2007 under the motto of Intelligence, Integrity, and Industry, we are currently seeking a reliable Security Guard to join our dedicated support team and safeguard our vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor premises, gates, and perimeter fences to maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Control pedestrian and vehicular traffic entering the school compound, verifying visitor credentials and issuing passes.
- Conduct routine patrols of academic blocks, hostels, and recreational areas day and night to deter unauthorized access.
- Report any suspicious activities, safety hazards, or maintenance issues promptly to the school administration.
- Assist in emergency response situations, including fire safety drills, medical emergencies, and campus evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of visitors, delivery vehicles, and incident reports during each shift.
- Minimum of SSCE / GCE / NECO or equivalent professional security training certification.
- Proven work experience as a Security Guard, preferably within an educational institution or corporate setting.
- Strong situational awareness, physical fitness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, parents, and staff.
- Basic knowledge of emergency protocols, access control systems, and first aid is an added advantage.
- Must reside in or be willing to commute to Akure, Ondo State.
