We are currently recruiting a dynamic and results-driven Sector Head, Transportation to lead our client's transportation banking portfolio in Nigeria. In this strategic role, you will spearhead business development, manage key stakeholder relationships across airlines, maritime, logistics, and rail sectors, and drive profitability while maintaining a robust risk asset portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Sector Head for Transportation, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass financial target delivery, relationship management, credit analysis, and team leadership:
- Formulate and implement strategic marketing plans to achieve the sector's financial goals, budgets, and revenue targets.
- Identify and generate profitable assets, trade transactions, and cheap sources of liabilities to reduce the overall cost of funds.
- Manage key decision-maker relationships within target segments including aviation, road transport, maritime, and shipping agencies.
- Perform rigorous credit reviews and analysis to create top-quality risk assets in strict compliance with internal credit policies.
- Lead, mentor, and appraise direct reports, establishing clear performance goals and driving professional banking development.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory shifts to uncover emerging business opportunities.
To qualify for this exciting career opportunity in Lagos, Nigeria, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in a relevant discipline; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Relevant professional qualifications in banking, finance, or related fields will be strongly favored.
- At least 10 years of cognate banking experience, with significant hands-on expertise in sector-specific credit analysis and relationship management.
- Deep knowledge of bank credit culture, policies, treasury operations, and in-depth industry product understanding.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, IT proficiency, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
