About the Role

We are currently recruiting a strategic and results-driven Sector Head, Emerging Sectors to lead our client's banking sector operations across Nigeria, focusing on high-growth industries such as Fintech, Renewable Energy, E-commerce, Real Estate, and Agribusiness. In this executive leadership role, you will spearhead business development, manage credit portfolios, and direct a high-performing team to achieve ambitious financial and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate and execute strategic plans to achieve the sector's financial budgets, revenue targets, and balance sheet goals.
- Build and maintain high-value relationships with key decision-makers across emerging sectors including technology, healthcare, and creative industries.
- Analyze and create top-quality risk assets, conducting thorough credit reviews in strict compliance with internal credit policies.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of relationship managers, fostering professional growth and high productivity.
- Identify profitable asset opportunities and generate stable, low-cost liabilities to optimize the bank's funding costs.
- Monitor operating environments, market trends, and competitor activities to deliver actionable business intelligence.
- Minimum of a First Degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of cognate banking experience, with substantial background in managing emerging sectors and commercial portfolios.
- Deep expertise in credit analysis, bank credit culture, and treasury operations.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with proven experience managing, training, and inspiring high-performing teams.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, combined with sound integrity and independent judgment.
