About the Role
Dangote Cement PLC, Africa's leading cement producer, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sectional Head, Production for our flagship Obajana Plant in Kogi State, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee kiln operations, drive manufacturing excellence, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and output efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the development and articulation of production strategies and tactical plans for the Obajana plant to ensure safe operations.
- Oversee the implementation of approved production plans to meet established manufacturing targets and key performance indicators.
- Ensure the strict use of standard operating procedures to enhance production processes and achieve optimal product quality.
- Manage daily plant production plans, capacity planning, and material requirement planning in alignment with company goals.
- Prepare quarterly and annual production budgets based on market dynamics and achieve financial targets through plant optimization.
- Coordinate and manage the production team to deliver daily targets within specified quality, budget, and timeframes.
- Identify weak refractory areas for static and rotary parts of the kiln and preheater, ensuring quality execution of lining work.
- Keep abreast of new developments and best practices in cement manufacturing, recommending operational improvements to leadership.
- Supervise the implementation of approved recommendations, including new product mixes and equipment commissioning.
- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in cement production, with at least 10 years in a senior supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of pyroprocessing, kiln operations, and overall cement manufacturing processes.
