About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sectional Head, Instrumentation to join our operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the maintenance, reliability, and calibration of field instrumentation, control systems, and monitoring devices across our heavy manufacturing plant to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of field instrumentation across key plant assets including stackers, reclaimers, crushers, vertical mills, coolers, conveyors, and process fans.
- Manage process control loops, PLC systems, PCS7 architecture, servers, and communication networks to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on instrumentation failures and tracking actions within SAP.
- Ensure full compliance with calibration schedules, ISO/IMS standards, and strict bypass governance policies.
- Manage the instrumentation operational budget, procurement of critical spares, and the end-to-end lifecycle of SAP work orders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the instrumentation team while fostering a Zero Accident safety culture across the workforce.
- Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of total industrial plant experience.
- At least 10 years of recent, hands-on experience working in a modern cement manufacturing plant.
- Expertise in PLC systems, DCS architecture, process analyzers, and industrial calibration practices.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and operational budgets.
