About the Role
Joshdan International Academy is a prestigious private, co-educational 21st-century educational institution built on sound Christian principles. We operate a robust integrated Nigerian-British curriculum spanning from Creche and Montessori pre-nursery up to Senior Secondary School (SSS 1–3). We are currently seeking a dedicated and innovative Secondary School English Teacher to join our vibrant academic community in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping young minds, fostering a love for literature and language, and guiding students toward academic and personal success within a supportive, faith-based environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned English lesson plans tailored to diverse student learning needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that encourages active student participation.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, continuous assessments, and examinations, providing constructive and timely feedback.
- Incorporate interactive workshops and communication activities to enhance students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and overall academic development.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow faculty members, department heads, and school administration to continuously improve instructional strategies.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress and developmental milestones.
- Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development workshops.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in English Language, Literature, or a related field; a Master's degree or TRCN certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven teaching experience within a reputable secondary school setting, preferably utilizing an integrated Nigerian-British curriculum.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a passion for teaching English language and literature.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage 21st-century learners effectively.
