About the Role
Joshdan International Academy is a prestigious, co-educational 21st-century institution grounded in strong Christian principles, offering an integrated Nigerian-British curriculum from early childhood through Senior Secondary School (SSS 1–3). We are currently looking for a dynamic and dedicated Secondary School Biology Teacher to inspire our students and foster a lifelong passion for the sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Biology lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs and learning styles.
- Integrate hands-on practical laboratory experiments and scientific investigations to enhance student comprehension and engagement.
- Foster a positive, safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment conducive to academic excellence.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through quizzes, practical exams, projects, and termly examinations, delivering constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, continuous assessments, and overall academic development.
- Collaborate proactively with colleagues, science department heads, and school administration to refine teaching methodologies.
- Communicate professionally and consistently with parents and guardians regarding student welfare and academic growth.
- Actively participate in school events, faculty meetings, and continuous professional development workshops.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), B.Sc with PGDE, or equivalent degree in Biology or a related science discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant secondary school teaching experience within a reputable school.
- Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of both Nigerian and British secondary school science curricula.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
