About the Role
Virtual Nation is looking for a dynamic Search Engine Specialist to scale organic and AI-driven search performance across our brands and client sites. As search behavior rapidly shifts toward AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews alongside traditional search results, you will ensure our digital footprint remains dominant. Working behind the scenes across our global migration platform, university admissions companion, and digital growth agency, you will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth and visibility for our diverse ecosystem of brands.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive keyword research at scale across all brands and client accounts, turning insights into actionable optimization plans.
- Drive on-page optimization, maintaining high standards for titles, metadata, structured data, and internal linking.
- Execute regular technical SEO audits to resolve crawlability, indexation, and site architecture issues.
- Optimize content for AI search surfaces, answer engines, featured snippets, and zero-click results.
- Partner closely with content and tech teams to ensure all web pages are fully search-ready and AI-optimized from launch.
- Track, analyze, and report on organic and AI channel performance to inform wider business strategies.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on SEO experience with proven end-to-end campaign results.
- Deep understanding of technical SEO, including schema markup, Core Web Vitals, and site architecture.
- Working knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
